While there has been an increasing number of Super Junior members creating Twitter accounts in the past week, fans have been wondering about a certain account which seems to be operated by SM Entertainment itself.
But SM Entertainment has responded that it does not have an official Twitter account!
At a glance, the Twitter account of SMEntTown appears to be real as it disseminates information about SM artists on a regular basis and responds to fans.
The account which was created since November 2009 has currently over 6,000 followers and recently created anticipation among fans by announcing comeback dates for BoA, Super Junior, SHINee and f(x) in quick succession. That resulted in reporters calling SM Entertainment to verify the news and that’s when SM Entertainment realized that someone was impersonating them.
SM Entertainment stated, “We do not operate an official Twitter account. It is fake and a misunderstanding, and we hope fans would not be fooled any longer.”
