JYJ's new album "The Beginning" goes on sale today
Korean idols Jaejoong, Yuchun, Junsu, former members of boy band TVXQ, released their first album today as group JYJ.
The group's publicist Prain Inc. announced through a press release Thursday that the regular edition of the boy's album "The Beginning," which features eight tracks recorded in English, went on sale today, while the special edition will hit stores four days later.
An official from Warner Music Korea explained that while only 99,999 copies of the limited edition will go on sale, they had received about 300,000 advanced orders for the special album and over 220,000 pre-orders for the regular edition."
The official added that they are coming up with other ways for the fans to purchase JYJ's latest album.
"We planned on releasing the album during their showcase on October 12 but due to the exceedingly huge number of advanced orders we wanted to fill in those orders first," a PR agent from Prain told 10Asia over the phone.
The special edition of "The Beginning" includes eight original songs, three remixes, a poster, ten photo cards and a tee-shirt.
Meanwhile, the three idols performed a number of their new songs at the Korea leg of their worldwide showcase on Tuesday, singing the songs "Ayyy Girl," composed by famed rapper Kayne West and "Empty" and "Be My Girl," which was produced by Rodney 'Darkchild' Jenkins.
They will be visiting nine cities in six countries such as Hong Kong, Bangkok and Los Angeles for the rest of their worldwide showcase.
Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu made their debut in 2004 as part of the popular boy band TVXQ, but despite their phenomenal success in Asia, they ceased their activities as a group after being involved in a legal dispute with the Korean agency SM Entertainment.
