JYJ’s Endorsement Kept Nature Republic Unaffected by the Bombing Incident in South Korea
Only Nature Republic’s sales was not affected by the bombing incident in the island located off South Korea’s west coast. In fact, due to JYJ’s concert, the total sales for Nature Republic has increased by 3 to 4 times as compared to their regular sales.
Last month, because of the bombing incident in South Korea, the total sales for the cosmetics brand ‘Etude House’ which sets tourists as their main target for customers has decreased by 30%.
JYJ, who is the spokesperson for Nature Republic, as well as the heart of the Hallyu wave, has held 2 concerts on the 27th and 28th of November this year. This has encouraged the increase in the number of tourists from Japan as well as from various other countries patronizing the cosmetics brand.
Despite the state of increasing tension in South Korea due to the bombing incident, the number of tourists are increasing instead of decreasing and this is mainly because of JYJ.
On the other hand, the total sales of other cosmetics brands fell by 20% to 50% due to the bombing incident. Although the various brands have famous celebrities like Won Bin, Kim Hyun Joong, 2PM, Song Joong Ki, and Girls Generation as their spokesperson, but in comparison with the great impact that JYJ have in places like Japan due to the support they received from the fans, the other celebrities seem to be slightly inferior to them, thus impacting the sales (of the other cosmetics brands) directly.
Nature Republic is beginning to significantly expand its market by hiring JYJ, who is succeeding after Rain, as their spokesperson.
